As many of you know, Hurricane Helene has devastated the Southeastern region of our country, leaving countless families displaced, homes destroyed, and lives uprooted. While many organizations are focusing on providing immediate essentials like food and shelter, at The Coconuts Kid Fit Foundation, we are focusing on offering a different kind of help — providing comfort and care to families and children during this incredibly difficult time.
We are reaching out to you, not just for your support, but for the opportunity to involve
your entire family in this effort.
We believe in the power of community. Our goal is to collect gently used and new clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, toys, and other household items to distribute to families affected by the hurricane. We want to provide the small comforts that help people feel a little more at home in the face of such hardship. From cozy blankets to a favorite stuffed animal, these items can make a huge difference to children and families who have lost everything.
We know how quickly our children grow out of their clothes and toys, often leaving perfectly good items unused in our homes. We’re asking parents to work with their children to look through these unused items — clothes, toys, shoes, blankets, baby items — and set them aside for donation. This is a chance to teach our kids the importance of giving, compassion, and kindness. Together, you can help prepare these items, washing and packaging them so they’re ready to bring comfort and relief to children who are facing a frightening and uncertain time.
Let your children know that the toys or clothes they’ve outgrown can bring joy to another child who might have nothing left. It’s a powerful way for them to be part of something bigger — to help other kids their age who are going through the hardest time of their lives.
Gently used or new clothing, toys, baby items, bedding, towels, and other
household staples.
Please wash all clothing, and if possible, package them in clear plastic bags,
labeled by size and gender. Toys and baby items can be sorted by age.
Our collection site is located at I AM Fitness, 205 Harmony Road,
Middletown, NJ.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals by providing support to kids and their families devasted by Hurricane Helene
While many organizations will be collecting money and food — and those donations are vital —we want to give something a little different. We want to help people not only survive but begin to rebuild their lives. With your donations, we can give children a sense of comfort, familiarity, and hope. We can help families get back on their feet, by offering basic items that bring dignity and warmth.
These donations can be more than just clothes or toys. They can be symbols of compassion and love during a time when families need it most.
We understand that times are busy, but please take a moment to involve your family in this effort.
Together, we can make sure that children affected by Hurricane Helene know they are not alone. In their darkest moments, your generosity will be a light, reminding them that people care and are there to help.
From our family to yours, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
